Privacy

Your recordings are not stored. When you practise, your voice is captured in the browser, sent securely to Microsoft Azure Speech to be scored, and comes back as numbers — a score per syllable. We keep the numbers. The audio is processed to produce them and is not saved by us.

Without an account, nothing about you lives on our servers: your language and level preferences stay in your browser.

With an account we store your email, your name and profile photo if you sign in with Google, your preferences, and your practice history — scores, dates and the sounds you practised. That history is what powers your streak and your progress.

We use cookies for what you chose (interface language, what you practise, level), for your session if you have an account, and a flag that remembers this browser has seen an account. There are no advertising cookies and we do not sell data to anyone.

We use Umami to see how many people arrive and which pages they visit, and Vercel Speed Insights to measure whether the site loads fast. Neither uses cookies, and neither follows you across other sites. This is usage of the product, not your voice: recordings of your practice audio are never part of analytics. We also store a few usage milestones — that someone started the test, that they recorded for the first time — against a random id that lives in your browser and disappears if you clear it.

Supabase (accounts and stored data), Microsoft Azure Speech (scores your voice), Vercel (hosting), Resend (sign-in emails), Google (only if you choose to sign in with Google), Umami (analytics) and Vercel Speed Insights (performance). Each receives only what its job requires.

You can ask for a copy of your data, a correction, or full deletion. Write to us through “Send feedback” at the bottom of any page. Deleting your account deletes your practice history with it.

Selora is not directed at children under 13.

If this policy changes, the date above changes with it. Meaningful changes will be announced on the site.
